A trusty deer-like creature. When mounted it is very fast and capable of easily climbing any hill.

Capacity

The yakul is a pack animal available only through an official mod, or in Curious Expedition: RIVALS. It can be recruited in native villages or, in RIVALS, obtained through crates.

It can be mounted, which will allow it to fight and greatly reduces the base Sanity cost of travel, at the cost of some carrying capacity. It also has the climber perk, which further reduces the Sanity cost of moving onto hills or plateaus.

Notes

• Animal: Has no skills and can only be promoted through Alexandra David-Neel's Animal Whisperer perk.
• Mount: Can be ridden to reduce the base sanity cost of travel. When mounted, gains an additional combat die and the Fast Mount perk at the cost of -1 total Cargo Capacity.
  • Combat dice given when mounting can not be used when over-encumbered.
• The climber perk is the explorer version rather than the one used by mountain troopers. It does not improve through promotions.

Tips

• As a pack animal, a yakul is no better than a donkey, but it is far superior as a mount. It greatly reduces the Sanity cost of travel, especially in hilly terrain, and is fairly good at fighting.
• Its only weakness is its relatively low Toughness.
