Sailors are companions whose perk helps to identify distant sections of the map, potentially revealing locations and surrounding terrain. Their ability requires the use of Coston Flares, and is otherwise useless. Sailors have high toughness, multiple dice and large carrying capacity, making them valuable companions even without use of their perk. They can normally be recruited only in London.

Once per expedition, a special event may trigger if you camp while you have high Sanity and a sailor in your party, and his Loyalty is at least 1: the sailor will provide you two bottles of Whisky from his secret stash. This can only happen once per expedition.

May start with the following ailments: Sexist (21.1%), Alcoholic (10.5%), Kleptomania (10.5%), Superstitious (10.5%), Claustrophobic (5.3%), Racist (5.3%), none (36.8%).

A sailor is present in the starting party of explorer Amelia Earhart and secret explorers Fabian Aleksandar Scherschel, Kai, Olivia White and Sir Chorge.

Tips

• A sailor's true value is his carrying capacity, as he is the only humanoid companion who can carry 3 crates. He also consistently provides two green dice, which can help the party's defense and combine well with a pistol.
