Research Assistance is an companion perk rewards Sanity each time you collect a butterfly. It is exclusive to the Scientific Assistant, who can be added to the game through an official mod or by playing RIVALS mode.
The perk is promotable, and a higher-level assistant will reward extra Sanity upon collecting a butterfly:
