Sometimes you'll want to scale images to use them to advertise your mod or in similar contexts. For example, it is highly recommended to create a custom preview image for your mod that will be used in the mod menu and (automatically) is set as the main image of your mod's Steam Workshop page.

Scaling pixel art can be tricky, as the standard scaling settings of most graphics software will cause the pixels to become blurry. There are two things you need to do in order to keep your pixelart crispy a non-blury:

  • Change the resampling (might be called differently depending on the tool) to Nearest Neighbor.
  • Always scale in 100% steps. So increase your image size by 200%, 400% or similar, but never by 50% or 135%.
