An Infected Wound is a temporary physical ailment that occurs when an injury is left untreated or when a party walks through treacherous terrain like fire or poison gas.
An infection's affects are delayed by 3 travel legs before kicking-in. After that, it halts health regeneration and has a 20% chance of causing death every during every travel leg. Though this ailment can affect all explorers and companions (including animals), it will never cause death for an explorer.
Like injuries, this ailment can be cured with a First Aid Kit or Red Mushroom. Resting at a Healing Spring will turn this wound into an injury after one rest, and will cure the character completely after 2 rests.
