Buckwheat is a special companion only present in the secret explorer Allison Otting's party. She is unique to other animal companions because of her specialized combat dice and perk, and her lack of capacity.

Buckwheat comes with 2 unique combat dice: 1 for attack, 1 for taunt. Her attack die can be used in some combos with a precision (eye) roll. Because Buckwheat is exclusive to Otting, she cannot be acquired by David-Neel and therefore cannot be promoted.
